Ok Ill start it like this, Nas is a terrible rapper, he had two hot albums "Illmatic" and "It was written" The rest of his shit was trash. If your a fan of Nas you know nothing about hip hop and you don't know real music. Which brings me to my point. Jay-Z was better then BIG back then and if Big was alive now Jay-z would still be better. Reasonable doubt was far better then Ready to Die track for track. Jay-z flowed better then BIG and had better lyrical content. Biggie was talkin bout suckin on dicks and fuckin boys in the ass O_o No diss to BIG but seriously bro? LMAO. Jay-z is the best hands down. I'd like to hear different points of view so comment

Nas is not a terrible rapper in the slightest bit. He's an underachiever, he hasnt put out a good album in my opinion since "God Son" but to say he is a terrible rapper is craziness. He has 2 absolute classics, "Illmatic" and "Stillmatic" and the rest of his catalog has some strong albums as well...not to mention the "Lost Tapes". He is not a terrible rapper

For Big and Hov...Back in the day, there was no way Hov was better. Big's Flow was untouchable, he did say some questionable shit, but his overall output was far better than hov back then. Hov best album to me was "Reasonable Doubt", but he then followed it up with "Vol. 1" which was ASS. Once Blueprint 1 came out, thats when i started to think that hov had the potential to be better than Big, and since that album, the consistency (minus Kingdom Come) of Jay puts him ahead of Big in my opinion today, but if Big was alive who knows who would be the best.

No way bro! Jay-z flow and lyrical content was KILLING B.I.G. back in the day. Biggie was descent and he made good songs but Hov was always better. As for Nas he used to spit that real shit but he fell off HARD! Stillmatic was no where near classic bro, it was mediocre at best. Put the Pipe down Shiz

You joking right? That shit I read above can not be true.

"Reasonable doubt was far better then Ready to Die track for track"

"Jay-Z was better then BIG back then and if Big was alive now Jay-z would still be better"

"Nas is a terrible rapper"

For real son? Are you dead serious?

What the hell are these dudes talking bout!? Nas is garbage when you get past those two albums, dude has no rhyme flow skill at all..
I'm not the biggest Biggie fan tho but I'd put him above Nas and a lot of others but NOT JAY-Z. Verse for verse on both songs they were on Jay killed BIG..
Jay is the best. Hands down 6:30!

this assholes clearly trying to stir shit up nas is better than both jay and big... neither of them cld fuck with nas when all 3 were alive...nas is the only one who has any balls to do creative shit...jay z just does whatevers cool at the time...in 96 primo bangers and dope samples were in...whatd jayz do? primo ski etc. in 98 swizz beatz and timbaland were in...whatds jay z do? timbo and swizz? in 03 what was in? soul samples speed up? whatd jay do? in 07 whats in? kanye and rhianna. what he do? kanye and rhianna...jay just keeps himself relevant hes one of the illests but hes no nas

and by the way jayz got spanked by nas and howd he bounce back? with beyonce and a z100 bubblegum remix of a classic 2pac record, that alone is enough to settle the argument

jay-z is clearly the better coporate business savy dude but as far as lyrics and flows nas is the illest u cant erase history, jay-z got ethered and had to come back with beyonce so we wld forget abt it...nas had some shitty songs and weird albums but at least he has some balls to go against the grain the rest of u are brainwashed conformists who dont have the balls to challange the established opinion...u cant manufacture it take away the money the corporations the madison ave advertisment dream makers the media and all the bullshit and nas is the better of the 2...

as far as big theres no way to know wat he wld become...u cant go back in time and compare it...if u werent there u missed it bro...when big was alive jay-z was considered underneath him and NAS WAS HIS EQUAL if u disagree with that statement u werent there! jay is that dude and reasonable doubt was a surpriser but in that era jay was not bigs competitor nas was...no way to tell what big wldve done so leave him out..either way nas on his best day vs jay on his best day, nas takes it! if u think anything diferent your probably 18 and werent around when these things were actually happening u cant erase history! nas is the illest writer hip hop will ever see

Bullshit. Nas may be more creative and take more risks than Jay but that doesn't automatically make him better. It just means he takes more risks...lol. Which alot of them didn't pay off. sooo with that said, I'm siding with Jay on this one. His track record is far superior. He not only stayed relevant, he stayed consistent for the most part. It is what it is.

As far as Big and Jay, you are right. Jay was not his equal in the eyes of the game. But that's because niggas were sleeping. Like niggas be sleeping on artist now. Aint no different. You can't look back in retrospect and tell me Reasonable Doubt shouldn't be mentioned in the same sentence as Ready To Die. That's almost Blasphemous.

hindsight is 20/20, your right though, reasonable doubt is def in the same sentence as ready to die but i was just thinking this the other day about BIG. What made him so great in my opinion can't be measured or even judgesd really...like listening to everyday struggle and some of his other records its not so much the lyricism, the wittiness, the writing..its just Raw period. he captured something that jayz in my opinion couldnt capture as well...jayz is like one of the illest ever but biggies shit was more raw to me..i cant think of another way to put it...theres no telling what he wldve become...still to this day theres not a record made that cld capture what nas did in ny state of mind nor what big did in everyday struggle thats just my opinion jay has some legendary records though

like theres just shit thats intangible when it comes to BIG u cant really say hes the best writer, the best lyricist but he

for example u cld say nas is the illest writer and point to specific shit he wrote etc. u cld say jay is the most witty and point to shit he did but big was
